The Bolton & District PROBUS Club
The Bolton & District PROBUS Club was established in May 1996. PROBUS was originally started in 1966 by the Rotary Club of Caterham England for retired and semi-retired men and women who enjoy keeping healthy minds and bodies and socializing with other retirees in the community. PROBUS has now grown to more than 4,000 clubs worldwide, 255 being Canadian clubs made up of over 38,000 members.
In PROBUS you’ll find a wealth of new experiences and a much expanded social network. The opportunities abound in each club with awesome guest speakers, a broad range of interesting activities and social events, stimulating conversation and the chance to explore your community, Canada, and the world with new friends.
Each PROBUS club is run entirely by fellow member volunteers who give freely of their time to make each club a success. By becoming a volunteer, you have the opportunity of becoming an integral part of the club either by assuming leadership of one of the many activities established for the enjoyment of our members or by active involvement as a member of our Management Team.
Albion Bolton Library
Probus clubs are very popular ways for seniors to get together for stimulating meetings, interesting excursions and fun activities.
The Bolton Probus club meets on the second Thursday of most months at 10 AM.
We enjoy the large meeting room upstairs from the Albion Bolton library.
Bolton Grows
Bolton started in the valley next to mills getting energy from the Humber River.
Many years ago the town had many hotels for farmers to stay in while their wheat was ground into flour.
Now the town has spread far beyond the valley.
